About me
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
This quote from Picasso rings true for me. I was one of those kids that was always drawing, writing, illustrating my stories, crafting, or doing something or other creative- I didn’t become an artist, but rather I never stopped being one.
The path to my artistic education officially began in 2004 when I decided to take the fine arts certificate program at the College of New Caledonia (CNC) in my hometown of Prince George, BC. While I would have preferred to pursue some form of graphic or web design at the time, this was the closest thing in town to take that interested me. The experience was a good one, and while fine art is not what I want to do for a living, I still enjoyed the experience and I apply things I learned then to the digital art and design work that I do to this day.
When I moved to Kelowna in 2006 to begin the digital media design diploma program at the Center for Arts and Technology - Okanagan (CATO), my view on the world and on my creative work broadened even more. Throughout the two years I was in school there, I pushed my creative bounds and improved the skills I already knew, learning new things such as programming, database management, game design, flash animation, marketing, and much more.
